In the heresy of ecumenism, the assumption of equality of all ideas is the fundamental truth. Yet, when examined close - the reason for belief - is not equality. The fundamentals of most religions and theologies view themselves as - The Truth. Roman Catholicism, like the Protestants, brutally dealt with opposing views. The brutality of post schism western "Christians", in the name of defending the "literal truth" of the Bible, was in direct contradiction to the very truth that they were supposedly protecting.
John 16, "2: They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. 3: And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me."This sums up the entire history of the post schism western church. From the crusades, to the inquisition, to Spain conquests of the America's and the slavery, brutal treatment of the natives. Consider that the natives, of the first Spanish conquest, were wipe out by the disease syphilis! These are the acts of these supposed "Christians". The French and English would repeat this in North America. In the name of God, and "manifest destiny" (aka "God's plan) American would be born - connecting both the east coast and the west coast. The legend of the Burnt Church tribe echoes, the treatment by these western "Christian" as they locked praying natives in their (the natives) Church and set it on fire. However, this highlights the violence, between western "Christians" themselves. Of which, the Catholic-Protestant wars of Ireland is a prime example. The significance here are the conclusions drawn - no one was right, because all were right - all were equal in the eyes of God! The irony, this idea wasn't even Christian - it was atheistic and paganistic. One of the streams being explored is the Anglican/Orthodox relationship that actually lead to the collapse of the Orthodox Church. This being the case, because while the Anglican (English) were in Greece, being influenced by the "mystics" and "holymen" of the old world. They were also in India, being influenced by the "mystics" and "holymen" of that old world. It's here, that the West Coast love affair with India, began. So, a study into Hinduism and it's influence in the world is being examined. These studies just cover theology post 1000AD and the development of western thought. Eventually, all areas and histories of theological development will be covered. |
